Recently, Xu Hongbing, Member of the Party Leadership Group of Pingdingshan Municipal Government and Vice Mayor of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, led a delegation to conduct a special investigation at Pingdingshan Xinruida Graphite Co., Ltd. (XRD). During the visit, Xu and his team inspected the company’s production and R&D operations on-site. Xu carefully listened to the company’s reports on technological breakthroughs in graphite materials, product applications, and market expansion, and fully affirmed its innovative achievements in high-purity graphite, isostatic pressed graphite, and other fields. He stressed that as a critical pillar of strategic emerging materials, the graphite industry must adhere to technology-driven development, increase R&D investment, deepen industry-university-research collaboration, and accelerate breakthroughs in key technologies and commercialization of achievements.
Balancing Ecological Protection and Industrial Development to Advance Green Transformation

During the investigation, Vice Mayor Xu Hongbing highlighted the need to coordinate graphite industrial production with ecological and environmental protection. He urged the company to firmly embrace green development principles, strictly fulfill its environmental protection responsibilities, optimize production processes by benchmarking advanced industry standards, and rigorously control pollutant emissions such as dust and wastewater to ensure a balance between ecological and economic benefits. He also called on relevant departments to strengthen policy guidance, support enterprises in adopting clean production technologies, promote resource recycling models, and explore new pathways for “low-carbon industrial parks and green manufacturing.” XRD stated that it would leverage this guidance to accelerate the establishment of a green manufacturing system, building a modern, technology-empowered, and eco-friendly graphite industry, thereby contributing to Pingdingshan’s efforts to become a model city for resource-based urban transformation.
